Funny Photos

Before Phillip goes off to APA for good, I just wanted to post some more pics here. He is SUCH a tough cookie to get a good photo. For such a slow booger, he sure does know when to squirm right when my camera clicks! Here are some of the outtakes.

Really, Mom?

Head scratcheeeees!

Dog, don't mess with me!

Man Cuddles

Phillip takes bro love to a whole new level. He head butts my other male cat Alfie, and he has no problem curling up on my fiancee's chest for a little man love (see the below video). It's not unusual for me to come home to Dave and Phillip curled up on the couch together watching Tosh.0 and making fart jokes. =) Phillip is so unassuming when he climbs up onto your chest or into your lap, it's really impossible to say no. He may shed like an old man losing hair, but dangit, it's totally worth it. I call him my old man baby cat because he'll let me hold him like a baby and bounce him and coo to him like a crazy cat lady without a single complaint. I seriously love this ugly ol' boy, and part of me is sad to see him go to cattery today (2807 Manchaca Rd). But I've got to give the rest of the world a chance to cuddle with him, so please go visit him today!

Phillip in action! (sorta)

Have I emphasized enough what a chill cat Phil is? Seriously, he's the most laidback cat I've ever fostered. We'll leave to run some errands with him snoozing on the couch, and then we'll return a few hours later to find him ... still snoozing on the couch. He has this one fuzzy blanket that he loves to make a nest out of, and he will literally stay there for hours. About the only time this kiddo moves is to go use the bathroom or to find out where his people have gone to. Here's a video showing just how low-key Phillip is on a daily basis:

Meet Phillip

What can I tell you about Phillip? He's just a good ol' cat. Slightly deaf, slightly old (8y) and with a slightly wonky eye (he has a metal BB lodged in his eyelid), he kind of seems like a wreck when you first see him. But spend 5 minutes with him, and you'll be like, "Oh, okay, I get it." He's CHILL in flesh and blood. Right now as I type this, he's sleeping on the couch next to me, dreamily making biscuits against my leg. And this is pretty much his 24x7. The most energetic he gets is when he first sees you come home from work. Then he perks up and saunters over to your lap, ready to be petted and start making his way through your DVR list.

Phillip would be the perfect accessory to your low-key lifestyle. He loves people, ignores other cats and is tolerant of dogs as long as they don't get up in his grill. Although he HAS smacked both my dogs in successive order when they got too nosy, so you don't have to worry about him taking care of himself.

Phillip is part of the Austin Pets Alive! program, and his adoption fee is $75. This includes his neuter surgery, all his shots, hw prev/flea meds, a FELV/FIV test (he's negative!) and a minor surgery to remove the BB from his eyelid. If you've always wanted a cat but are too busy (or, let's admit it, just too lazy) for all the maintenance of an energetic youngster, seriously consider this little loverboy. You can shoot me an email for more info or to set up a time to meet him. Here's a quick video intro:
